Tire sealant is great for small holes caused by thorns or tiny pinch flats, but if you don't want to spin, pump, spin and pump until the sealant coagulates, PLUG IT and ride on!  Of course many holes are just to big for sealant to effectively seal with much pressure in the tire, especially with gravel and road pressures, so PLUG IT!  Hey, you can even put 2 or 3 plugs in the same hole and get back on the bike in a fraction of the time of installing a tube, and most importantly you will still have a tubeless tire with sealant.
